The BBVA Foundation Frontiers of Knowledge Awards seek to recognize and encourage world-class research and artistic creation, prizing outstanding contributions of major impact for their originality and theoretical significance. The name of these awards refers both to work that enlarges the scope of our current knowledge pushing forward the frontiers of the known world and the overlap of interdisciplinary fields. Awards are grouped into eight categories so as to reflect the interaction of disciplines: Basic Sciences, Biomedicine, Ecology and Conservation Biology, Information and Communication Technologies, Economics, Finance and Management, Arts, Climate Change, Development Cooperation.
